This past week in ISM I was able to listen to many amazing research speeches in class. I began preparing for my own research speech which I will give on Tuesday! Also on Tuesday morning, before 9 AM, I will meet once again with Mr. Rich Allen, which I am super excited for.
As I look through my old research and interview assessments, I truly get a sense of accomplishment at all that I have done in ISM. Seeing all my interviews put together side by side and reviewing the most important information that I learned from each of the respective professionals shows me the vast amount and variety of information/tips that I have accumulated and will help me in the future! I am so thankful for the opportunities that ISM has given me, both academically and socially.
I also had an interview with Mr. Shashank Karnik, who is the Associate Director at Navigant Consulting. This interview was so awesome; I really feel like my interest in consulting was rekindled! I was extremely excited because he was the first corporate management consultant that I interviewed. Mr. Karnik taught me a lot about the two types of management consultants: operations and strategy! Operations consultants work to improve efficiency and existing processes, while strategy consultants help businesses figure out their plans for the next five years and in large decision making. Our interview lasted an hour and a half, but it felt like 30 minutes! This interview was definitely one of my favorites and I will definitely keep in touch with Mr. Karnik.
