The school year has officially begun, thus enabling my ISM journey to take off as well! After the first official week of ISM, I can confidently say that I am extremely thrilled to be apart of such a phenomenal program. In class we have given introduction speeches to introduce ourselves and our topic in an interesting way. While writing my speech I was able to really think about why I chose to study Management Consulting and Business as a whole.

Another exciting aspect would be researching and building our website and Linkedin profiles. I spent hours upon hours trying to perfect them and I am extremely happy with the result! On Linkedin I also began to reach out to professional consultants. A very scary process, but fun nonetheless. After days of connecting with professionals, someone connected with me and enthusiastically offered to help. I immediately scheduled a phone interview with Ms. Danna Zahran to find out more about the field!

Our 30 minute conversation left me hungry for more knowledge about the field. I am glad that the more I find out about Management Consulting, the more interested in it I become. Ms. Zahran told me that the field of consulting is great for many reasons. Many people enter it as a stepping stone to figure out what industry in business they want to work in, and many people also enter it to be a consultant and then accumulate enough experience to become an associate or partner. Consulting is also great for those who love to network and problem solve, which are two things that I am extremely interested in doing as a future job.

My interview with Ms. Zahran brought me a wealth of knowledge that has only served to further spark my excitement for the rest of the school year in ISM. In the upcoming week, I plan to schedule an in person interview with another professional and conduct more research alone on management consulting.
