This past week was definitely a hectic one! On Thursday, I gave my Original Work speech in class. I feel like overall my speech was a success. One mistake I made was not bringing my Research Portfolio to class to be put on display during the speech; I vow next time to never make that mistake again. Another lesson that I learned was from the fact that my speech was so short. When rehearsing, I was always hitting 16 minutes, but during the in-class presentation, I barely made it over 12! This has taught me to make my speeches long because in front of other people I will get nervous and not explain as much or not elaborate as much as I do at home.

I also had my first mentor visit on Friday! The mentor visit was so educational and interesting. I hadn’t seen Mr. Allen in a while so we were able to catch up on what we missed in each other's lives. We began by discussing how we would regularly meet up. I believe that we will meet once a month, but in addition I will be added to his weekly business coaching classes. I am extremely excited because I will be able to watch him in action, coaching small business owners from all over the country and solve problems. The month of February’s theme is SALES, which perfectly meshes with one major aspect of my Final Product. I am excited to learn more about how he works as a business coach and gain knowledge to be put towards my Product. Our meeting also allowed me to come up with a clearer understanding of what format and continuation my Product will entail. Mr. Allen shared with me some valuable resources that will allow me to continue working independently on the “Six-Month Update” for Euphoria! Bars.
